I sorta left this blog that way already, it seems. =/
Got kinda caught up with stuff - outings, yamchas, and also going on an epic Mount Kinabalu motorboating climbing trip. But nah, all these are but excuses. I was just too… uninspired to type up a post. Too many other things demand my time.
Anyway, the main purpose of this post is not to rant about my lack of motivation to blog lately - but rather, my sudden urge to blog about something awesome.
And yesh, it’s Left4Dead.

I’ve been hearing tons about this game, and it’s piqued my interest somewhat - but I wasn’t really that into it as I’ve mostly shrugged it off as hype. Boy was I wrong. Some guy brought a copy over to a CC i frequent and copied it onto the PCs while I was playing COD4 with Heng Soon - and I just happened to glance over and notice a new (and awesome game) which I’ve been hearing about. So I asked to have a copy too. Ngam ngam they were playng 3v3 at the time, so there was just enough slots for the two of us.
And hell, was I glad I tried it.
The aim of the game is simple - get from point A to point B with 3 other players without dying, while fighting hordes and hordes of zombies. Sounds meh at first glance, but hell - it works. The game is made in such a way that zombies spawn at places where they’ll make you kancheong kaw kaw. You have limited ammo, and only one health pack each - and the ‘boss’ zombies can hold you down and slowly kill you until a teammate comes to your aid, so teamwork is essential in this game. A very fresh way to play a game, I must say - as even the most ‘team-based’ games I played so far (yesh, even COD4) is very rambo-able once you get good enough. (in fact, ramboing in COD4 is sorta essential for flank spawning)
We played for a few hours in VS mode, each team of 4 taking turns using both survivors and the infected (the zombies). It was (for lack of better descriptions) awesome. Lots of screaming, lots of random swearing, and hell, lots of fun. Dying in a game has never been so unfrustrating.
And to think I’ve only tasted VS mode.
I’m definitely getting this game ori to play the campaign.
Joe was sucked into this game for the whole weekend! Its just like Alone in the Dark and Condemned but much much scarier. Be careful of the witch! Hahaha
Joe can be my friend. =D
