Whoever thought randomly driving around in Brunei would be so fruitful.
The night started as an impulse visit with Roey to The Mall’s arcades (yeah, Brunei’s so sad, it has only one mall). After a couple of rounds in Initial D, they had to close shop - so we decided to roam around looking for a place to drink.
In a pure awesome coincidence, we bumped into a few friends at The Arch (some cool looking place which is lame because it closes at midnight). Chatted for a while, made promises to go drink another time because that group just finished their yamcha session. Ah well.
Finally settled for this place at the former Toysworld (no idea what is it called, it’s 24 hours, so good enough). Had our extra large milos when two old friends suddenly popped up, both also lamenting upon Brunei’s lack of nightlife. It would be so freaking awesome if Brunei had anything close to a pub. Damn I need some alcohol in my blood.
And so we chatted. Good old days, the future, whatever happened while we were gone from Brunei. Hell, and there’s a lot of stories. Old acquaintances turning gay, cute girls from highschool getting knocked up, the list goes on. Extra emphasis on the girls getting knocked up. Such a waste.
Blah. So fast forward to my journey home after all was done. Brunei seems to be crawling with pigs nowadays. I’m glad that I was cautious… Somewhat. I was tempted to run a red light when a pigmobile came in from the other side of the junction - slow down slow down… Cancel plan =_=”.
And then further down the road, closer to home, there was a pigvan with flashing lights parked at the side of the road. I was going around 100 at the time. I somehow instinctively slowed down to 80 or so. Mmm… I think it’s this midnight speedtrap rumour I keep hearing from my dad.
Whatever, I’m safe for now - so this is a shoutout to all friends in Brunei. It’s close to Chinese New Year, so drive slow - pigs are out for angpow. I’m sure you don’t want to start pow’ing piggies before you even have your reunion dinner. =P
