Stuck Chronicles - Week 2

Warrgh damn.

I haven’t done shit for the past week. Mostly because… 1. I got sick the day after I got here, 2. Brunei sucks, 3. well. whatever.

I did go out and DotA a few times for the past week and tasted the power of Brunei players. I feel relieved. And I still saw the same no life, no future, dropouts that hang out around the cybercafes in the area. People who have been following this blog know how much I hate those losers. Yes, I’m an elitist when it comes to this - but they have no future. There. Rich parents have given them too much. They will be the Paris Hiltons of the future. No life. No future. No respect from anyone whatsoever. Oh and they’re ugly.

Mark my words.

Disclaimer: Prediction assumes that they do not die beforehand.

I think this hatred and rage brews from me due to the overwhelming boredom that I’m going through.

All I do at home nowadays is play Trickster.

*sigh*

Stuck in Brunei

Ho boy. I’m back in Brunei. Again.

Went out yamcha with Roey late last night. Talked about life and stuff like that. You know, the inane things. Yeah.

Now that Roey has gone off to KK for the week, let’s see what other interesting things that can be done… Maybe I’ll go out for DotA or something one of these days. Maybe.

Yawn. Brunei is still boring as hell.

Funeral for a Friend

The Deceased & its Killer

It died on me.

Mah harddisk be dead.

I didn’t know what was the cause. I didn’t notice the symptoms.

Occasional slowdowns. More and more frequent. Then soon, even normal system tasks became slow.

Then it hit me right in the face. The notification window, stating “Your Hard Disk is failing. Please backup your drive to prevent loss of data.”.

Damn. Continue reading ‘Funeral for a Friend’

OMG 6.44b is out already?!

Holy shit. It shows how long I haven’t played DotA. I went out with Kroll, Ken, Luke, Basil etc (my usual DotA gang) to MCC just now to have a few rounds of DotA. After a dunno-how-long hiatus from the game.

6.44b is already out man… They have a pretty new tree for the World Tree now. And six new heroes. Man, I really need to read up on them now. Damn.

Get the latest version of DotA from getdota.com.

Man, after the night’s 3 rounds (where I won two matches), I’m beginning to really really love Necrolyte.

Roadblock WTF?!

It all started when I received not one, but two text messages with the (directly quoted) warning “Guys there r police at before security check point checking licenes. Tell ur friends as well.”. Being the kind not the pay much heed to or fall into these chain text messages - I didn’t forward it to anyone, but kept the warning in mind.

Went to campus this afternoon with Kroll for our FTV screening, but there was no roadblock - so we thought it was just some wild rumour. After that we went for a drink, and when we were on the way back…

ROADBLOCK WTF?!

Yeah man. There was a roadblock right after the Senadin roundabout on the road to Curtin. Quite smart, actually. There was no place to run after the corner and people get caught by surprise. Even Kroll got a shock and went “WTF man?!” and fumbled for his seatbelt. The pigs didn’t see him fumbling for his seatbelt, so he got off with no problem. Plus he had a license - so yeah. Heck, even I’ve got a license.

Here’s a badly drawn picture of the area.

My badly drawn map…

There were quite a few pigs there, and I was actually quite tempted to snap a photo, but I decided against it. You know how paranoid those pigs can get. So yeah, ugly map for you then. Saw a few people we know get stopped - hopefully they’re okay.

Anyway, this is my public warning for all Curtin students who read my blog - if you have no license, refrain from driving to Curtin at the moment. Them damn pigs are roaming. You know who you are, so just be careful. And if you’re a blogger, be an ass and warn everyone with your blog as well. We need more people to know.

It’s always like this isn’t it? The people vs the government. I guess it’s not changing any time soon. =)

I want the Holy Grail too…

Fate/Stay Night Logo

Finally, through my assignments and projects - and now through my anti-social study week, I have finally finished watching Fate/Stay Night. Yes, it’s been almost a year since the series finished airing in Japan, but it’s just like me to wait for a complete series of an anime to come out before actually bothering to get it and watch. And well, for this series - I’d say I’m not disappointed.

The series is about a war for the Holy Grail, a legendary artifact that can fulfil the wishes of whoever obtains it. Heroes are summoned by the Holy Grail as Servants to fight for humans (usually magicians) whom are named Masters. Yes, very lame and generic - but RPG lovers can get off with this stuff, so whatever. So yeah, in every war for the Holy Grail, seven Masters are chosen and given a Servant each - each Servant of a different class. Archer, Saber, Lancer, Assassin - something along that line.

Fate/Stay Night is actually based on an eroge, just like quite a few other series that I have watched. And this one actually pulls it off quite well in terms of action and story pacing. Most of the time, at least. And it manages to squeeze in a few scenes that nods to its hentai lineage. That and a few really cute parts to take a break between all the action. Visual Touchup + Rename

Every time something significant happens in my life, it reflects on the virtual world through my blog. Something big (and good) has happened once again. =)

My blog’s theme has now been updated to Jide’s Freshy 2.0, and renamed to Vicissitude Reboot - reflecting upon the reboot I had with my life, and how sometimes one has to change slightly back to his old self to gain something new.

As for what I gained… It shall be obvious soon enough.

Wordpress 2.2

Again, yet another overdue upgrade. But yeah, I’ve finally gotten Wordpress 2.2.

It’s got built-in widgets and the advanced features for the ‘write post’ page is automatically enabled. Yay.

Get it from Wordpress.org (as usual).
